Just like any other automaker that looks to make a splash at the SEMA Auto Show, Ford knows that the way to go is to build a car that can stir up some buzz and turn some heads.
Recently, the American automaker teased a pair of Ford Mustang GT models that hopes to accomplish that. The first one, called the Mustang GT Nitto Tire, is the little more subdued of the two Mustangs.
But make no mistake, this Mustang GT still looks the part of a car you’d normally see in the biggest aftermarket show in the world. It’s got an aggressive new look, highlighted by a Brilliant Red finish from BASF to go with black racing stripes, as well as a new aero kit and if you didn’t notice by its name, a fancy set of what we think are 20-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto tires.
According to Ford, the Mustang GT Nitto Tire also has a performance upgrade under its hood, thanks to a new Ford Racing Cobra Jet intake manifold breathing through a twin-bore 65-millimeter throttle body. No mention of how much of an increase in output it carries, but anytime you hear the name "Cobra Jet", the thought immediately goes to a muscle car that has in excess of 500 horsepower at its disposal.
Whatever that number is, the Mustang GT Nitto Tire will undoubtedly fit right in at SEMA.
