By now, everyone knows that Audi is working on the new-generation TT . However, until now, all we had to go off of were some mules that we caught testing in wintery conditions. Now, the first full prototype went out for a test is out for some tests at the Nurburgring, and we caught it.
We have very few details about the next TT up to this point, but we do know that it will be built on the company’s new modular MQB chassis that currently underpins the new-generation Audi A3 and the new Volkswagen Golf. Thanks to the new platform, the next TT will be lighter and will deliver increased performance.
Under the hood, the new TT will receive a new 1.8-liter engine and two different 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engines.
The new Audi TT Coupe will be unveiled sometime in 2014, with the roadster version to follow a few months later.
